The Importance of Senior Exercises


Adults over 65 who engage in regular physical activity are certain to find a number of health benefits. One key reminder when beginning a new senior exercise routine is to start slowly. Initially, activities should be low to moderate intensity and last for short periods of time. Examples of senior exercise that will strengthen muscles are yoga, hand held weights, and carrying groceries. The real goal is to be as physically active as your body will allow!

Balance exercises are a great way to prevent the risk of falling. This form senior exercise is best done in groups! Some ways to strengthen and improve balance are walking backwards, walking on tiptoes, and standing when you would normally sit.
